Rochus 2 days ago I have been using CrossLine (https://github.com/rochus-keller/crossline/) for the last 16 years for this purpose; before I used Netmanage Ecco Pro (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ecco_Pro). Of course there is a cursor for writing.
